Aakanksha Khandwaha

Aakanksha is a fourth-year undergraduate student at Mount Allison University completing a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science, with a minor in biochemistry. She has conducted summer research under Dr. Matthew Betti on mathematical epidemiology in previous years, and was a fellow at the AI4Good lab in 2022.

This summer, she is working at The Simpson Lab on developing a Responsible AI podcast, researching capabilities of LLMs in healthcare, and looking at non-western ethical frameworks for healthcare AI systems. Aakanksha’s overarching interests are in AI ethics and fairness in the healthcare domain, and she hopes to pursue graduate studies in this field.
